Let's Talk About Coffee

Let's talk about coffee and Intuitive Eating. I have read in one of the two books... to stay away from sugary caffeinated beverages at first, because drinking them sometimes makes it harder for you to read your hunger cues. I believe this is true, at least for me. Coffee makes my stomach feel a very specific way, sort of acidic in a way. It masks my hunger, and so I feel the coffee feeling more than I can read my hunger, which makes it hard. It sucks though, because I need caffeine -- especially recently as there's been a lot going on that's stressful in my life lately. I didn't have coffee for the first 4 or 5 days and it made it much easier. The last couple of days however, I have been drinking it regardless, I am just trying to be more careful. I also used to drink water while eating my meals, but now I only drink water after I am done eating so I can also gauge my hunger accurately. Also since I started IE, I have taken my coffee with 2 sugar 1 milk, rather than 1 sugar 1 milk.
